Please join us in the shop on Friday, August 18th at 8pm for our inaugural “14ers & Beyond” clinic for an in-depth – and likely exhaustive – tour of peak bagging and high-country hiking. Our very own staff, with over 30 14er ascents and thru-hikes of the Appalachian Trail, the Annapurna Circuit, Vermont’s Long Trail, Japan’s Kumano Kodo, and many others under their belt, will walk you through the basics, from gear and logistics to safe route finding to overnighting at altitude. And don’t you worry, we’re going to spend a chunk of time on the expansive world of 13ers, where adventure and solitude often trump that of their more famous kin.
Come ready to learn and equipped with questions, because we’ll open the end of the clinic to a Q & A for as long as y’all have energy. Firestone Walker will supply the free libations, we’ll offer 10% off our entire camping and hiking footwear departments for the evening, while our generous sponsors have thrown down for a smokin’ raffle! A handful of gear companies will also be tabling the event, allowing you to chat about gear with the absolute experts!
