Salomon QST 106 Alpine Touring Ski
QST 106 Alpine Touring Ski
Welcome to the flagship of the Salomon alpine touring fleet, the updated, reinvigorated, and entirely rad QST 106. Made for women, made for men, made for humans who like to shred!
The QST 106, as noted, features some significant upgrades for '22/'23. An increase in tail rocker and an earlier taper in the tip makes the ski quicker and more maneuverable, releasing edges effortlessly while serving up a more playful ride. With less effective edge than its predecessor, Salomon's brain trust employed Double Sidewall construction to mitigate any stability issues and increase your confidence on groomers and higher edge angles. The poplar wood core benefits from also benefits from upgrades like C/FX tech and Cork Damplifiers in the tip and tail, allowing for quicker pivots and a quieter ride, eating vibration for lunch.
Although not meant to be the stoutest ski at Mach III on groomers - it's a mid-fat ski for Pete's sake - you can still drive the shovels with confidence and lay into it at speed. Where the updates really pay the rent is off-piste. The QST 106 effortlessly jumps from edge to edge in tight trees, exceptionally responsive and hard-working in the bumps, and surfs and floats above it's waist-class in powder (outside of those epic deep days, where you'll want the true fat skies beneath you).
You can ski the QST 106 every single day, in every type of terrain, in every type of condition...and there's really no higher compliment you can saddle a ski with.
