Founded in 1938, Scarpa builds performance footwear for the full range of mountain sports – skiing to mountaineering, rock climbing to backpacking, trail running to hiking. Headquartered in Asolo, Italy, the company has been owned and operated by the Parisotto family since 1956. In 2005its North American headquarters opened in Boulder, Colo.Trivia: SCARPA stands for Società Calzaturiera Asolana Riunita Pedemontana Anonima, which means Associated Shoe Manufacturing Company of the Asolo Mountain Area.
