BCA Float 27 Speed Avalanche Airbag Pack 2017/2018
The Backcountry Access Float 27 Speed Avalanche Airbag Pack is designed for ski mountaineering and technical terrain, where you're consistently entering avalanche terrain. This 2017/2018 model was a Sales Rep Sample, which means it's a smoking deal.
The Float 27 Speed uses a compressed air cyclinder with a mechanical trigger, which causes immediate inflation in an avy situation. The canister, as with all avy packs, is discharged only once and then must be refilled.
Along with the airbag system, this pack offers a ton of brilliant features. An internal sleeve, featuring a drain hole, accomodates your shovel, probe, and skins, with a zippered pouch above for essentials. The hipbelt offers gear loops, while ice axe loops tuck away the tools. As a bonus, the pack works in tandem with BCA's BC Link radio.
