Position Available: Consignment Lead

Full/Part Time: Full Time (40hrs/wk)

Starting Pay: $19.30/hr

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Our mission is to make the outdoors more affordable and accessible by serving the Front Range climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, backcountry skiing and split-boarding community with the highest level of customer service, the deepest selection of technical gear, and the best deals to be found on outdoor equipment anywhere. 

The Consignment Lead is responsible for ensuring that the company mission is adequately implemented and represented in the Consignment Department. The Consignment Lead is responsible for supporting the Consignment Manager and maintaining continuity in the consignment department.  

 

Daily Operations

  • Responsible for proper intake of new items.
  • Responsible for ensuring that expired consignment items get ‘pulled’ and put through the return/donation process.
  • Contact and resource for customers who have questions/issues about their consignment accounts, items and payments.
  • Responsible for inventory and quality control of the consignment room.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the consignment room is logically merchandised with appropriate signage.
  • Responsible for record keeping of all signed consignment agreements.
  • Expectations

    • The consignment lead should be able to operate independently once fully trained.
    • The consignment lead will work mostly an opposite schedule from the consignment manager (1 day of overlap each week).
    • There will be a 90 day non-compensatory performance review, and an annual review thereafter.

    Starting Pay: $18.30/hr

    Job Description & Responsibilities:

    The Wilderness Exchange mission is to make the outdoors more affordable and accessible.  We serve the Front Range outdoor community with the highest level of customer service, the best selection of technical gear, and the greatest deals on outdoor equipment! Ideally, we’d be stoked on a candidate that has previous outdoor retail experience, but as long as you have a passion for the outdoor culture and lifestyle, and an abnormally high level of psych for getting folks the gear they need, then you’d likely be a good fit.     We are a small company, and as a result, you may find yourself working on a medley of different tasks throughout the day.  We try to create a fun and safe working environment, where our staff feel comfortable, appreciated, and that their opinions are valued.

    Sales Associate responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Sales and customer service 
    • Having fun conversations with customers
    • Restocking and merchandising 
    • Fitting customers for packs, footwear, climbing shoes, ski boots, etc.
    • Picking web orders with accuracy
    • Making funny signs
    • Appraising gear for consignment
    • Answering phones and fielding customer questions
    • Stickering and security tagging product, and some other admittedly boring stuff
    • But, most importantly - getting people STOKED on getting outside!

    Some base knowledge of the categories that we sell is required, and semi-expert knowledge of at least one of the categories is preferred. Our categories include, but are not limited to: Climbing, Backpacking, Technical Apparel, Footwear, and Backcountry Skiing. 

    Other Job Requirements:

    • Previous retail experience is preferred 
    • Backcountry ski knowledge and experience
    • Must be psyched on the things we sell
    • Must have weekend availability
    • Good sense of humor is preferred, but not required
