It can be intimidating entering the splitboard world. If you're keen on sticking with that freeride style of your snowboard but want to head into the backcountry, the Switchback was built for you. Weston's dependable all-arounder for year-round riders in all types of terrain and conditions, this deck is built to float in powder and maintain an edge, but doesn't get too fancy with things and utilizes a standard poplar wood core. Poplar strikes the workhorse balance of dampening, pop, and durability. The mid-range stiffness provides a similar feel to standard snowboards and the abiilty to chop through the mush or float on those bluebird powder days.

The Switchback features a Directional Multi Radial Camber-Rocker profile that helps it stay afloat with a little reverse camber in the nose, while maintaining camber underfoot for pop and edgehold. This design also means that you'll have grip on the skin track so you can tap into those energy reserves for dessert...er...the descent. In other words, Weston designed the Switchback with camber underfoot so that you'll have optimum skin traction for the uphill, and edge-hold on the downhill. A slight shift of the touring bracket forward to create a heavier tail also allows for ease of kick-turns in the skin track.

If you're just getting your feet wet in the backcountry and still figuring out how to cut skins and attach the handle to your shovel, the Switchboard is a reliable, exceptionally fun companion for all-mountain adventures.

  • Designed for novice or intermediate splitboarders with all the bells and whistles you need and nothing you don't, this medium-flex deck will get you into the backcountry with confidence and dependability
  • Directional multi-radial camber-rocker features a gradual increase from the nose to a more aggressive camber radius in the tail, improving damping on drops and providing acute control on bigger lines
  • Standard Wood Core made out of snappy and responsive poplar wood
  • TPU topsheet for increased abrasion resistance, elasticity in colder temps, and durability
  • Phantom Clips provide simple and reliable compression and connection on the split
  • Sintered Base is the gold standard, leading to a faster ride, increased durability, and better wax retention
  • Tri-axe layup is a multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow condition
  • UHMW PE Sidewalls provide added dampening
  • Stitched Tips means tip spacers are stitched to the core to provide added durability
  • Stainless steel metal tip and tail pieces protect from damage and increase durability
  • Rooted Inserts provide flax (more sustainable and enviro-friendly) reinforcement in areas of the core to increase strength and durability
  • 4 year warranty
