Icelantic Pioneer X Ski
Pioneer X Ski
Brand new for '23/'24, Icelantic put a bigger engine and stereo system in their best-selling and most-versatile Pioneer 96 and they're hoping you're gonna pin the pedal to the metal. What kind of additions, you may be asking, did they plop into an already fantastic ski?
First, Icelantic added beech wood to the regular Pioneer's all-poplar core plus a 55° Carbon X Veil running from tip to tail. If the Pioneer 96 left you wanting just a bit more, you now have it. The X boasts more torsional rigidity and liveliness when exploding in and out of turns. You'll have energy to burn with these skis, bouncing between turns, nabbing side hits, and finding air when the opportunity presents itself.
The X, although significantly beefed up, doesn't lose any forgiveness. Like its sibling, it remains nimble and easy to swing through the turns. If you're an intermediate to advanced skier, you may have just found your one-quiver weapon for this winter.
