When Tenaya conceived the new Mastia they wanted not only to create an aggressively curved shoe that delivered maximum power for standing on dime-sized holds, but also one that provided unrivalled responsiveness in all situations. Thoughtful design features abound, such as the sticky rubber covering the upper part of the toe-box and instep, providing both increased protection against abrasion and superior performance when toe-hooking. At the same time, a lightweight and breathable full-bellows tongue adapts to the anatomy of the foot and creates a comfortable barrier between the elastic on the shoe’s instep and the skin. Well, comfortable for a high-performanec shoe, at least.
