Everyone should get their 15 minutes of fame, and Wilderness Exchange Unlimited staffer Mary Witlacil used up 2 minutes and 15 seconds of hers during a recent local CBS news story about High Country Hiking Safety Tips. The story aired in June, after two dramatic, widely publicized rescues at Horsetooth Falls and the summit of Longs Peak. Witlacil talks about the dangers of lighting, using only a cell phone for navigation, and warns against wearing cotton. She also provides a list of essential backcountry items to carry. Check it out!
