Dear Wilderrness Exchange Customers,

Due to the Denver 'stay at home' order issued yesterday afternoon, today is the last day to pickup an order at the Denver retail store. If you need something, please call the store (303-964-0708) and we can place an order for you over the phone for pickup today.

After that, our retail store will remain closed through April 10th. We will update this post if that date changes.

Our website and shipping services will remain operational. You can always place an order on our website ( and have it shipped. If you live in Denver, it should only take a day or two to get to you.

For those of you wanting ski packages (skis, bindings, & skins), we are selling our rental/demo fleet on the website. Click here to see available ski packages!

Dear Wilderness Exchange Customers,

As many of you know, we made the decision to temporarily close our retail store on Monday March 16 for one week due to concerns over COVID 19.  We will keep you updated on this closure, and continue to follow the guidance and recommendations of federal and state authorities;  we intend to do everything we can to keep our staff and our customers safe while continuing to serve the needs of our community through our web site,

Over the past few days, we have been getting a lot of calls about offering an in-store pickup option. Starting tomorrow (Friday, 3/20/20), we will be allowing ‘in-store’ pickup at the front door of our retail store at 2401 15th Street from 11am-5pm every day.  Our retail store will still remain closed to customers, but we will be staging a pickup area in the foyer of our retail store. Wilderness Exchange will be practicing a heightened level of sanitation and public safety measures in the pick-up area and in handling your order.

You have 2 options for ordering:

  • You can place your order online at and select ‘In-Store Pickup’ as your shipping option. Normally, our system does not accommodate same-day pickup, but we are making an exception during this pandemic.
  • You can also call the store and place an order for pickup over the phone (303-964-0708)

For both of these options, please allow at least 60 minutes after you place your order for us to collect your items and have your order ready for pickup.

Rentals and ski service will remain closed and customers will not be allowed in the store. Please understand that these precautions are in place to protect the health and safety of our staff. We ask for your patience and understanding through these challenging times.

As the COVID 19 outbreak continues to spread throughout our communities, we are sad to announce that our retail store will be temporarily closed through March 22, 2020. In making this very difficult decision, we have prioritized the health and safety of our staff and customers above all other business concerns. Our decision was informed by the best available information from the WHO and the CDC, who are recommending social distancing in order to flatten the curve of the spread of the virus. Ultimately, it is just the right thing to do.

We ask for your patience and understanding through these challenging times.                                                                        

  • If you have rented equipment from us that currently needs to be returned, or if you have a rental reservation for this week, we will be contacting you to make arrangements for dropoff/pickup at the shop.
  • Our full-time staff will continue to receive pay through this temporary closure.

There will be no limit placed on how many times this can be used through March 23. Dear Wilderness Exchange Customers,

We are monitoring the COVID 19 pandemic and wanted to update you on measures we are taking to protect the health and safety of our staff and community. Our company’s containment measures will be guided by the best available information from organizations like the WHO and the CDC, and we will continue to adjust our actions and protocols as new information becomes available. 

Our 20+ employees will be taking the following steps to provide a heightened level of public safety while you shop at our retail store:

  • Staff breakrooms -all common touch areas will be disinfected every hour during store operations and we are taking measures to limit communal use of kitchenware.
  • During store hours, we will conduct a thorough sanitization of all surfaces in high touch public areas every 2 hours.
  • There will be an immediate moratorium placed on accepting any consignment items through the end of March.
  • Any staff who feels ill will not be allowed to report to work under any circumstance.
  • We are suspending all community events and gatherings through the end of April as well as staff gatherings and company travel.
  • Staff is instructed to wash hands frequently, especially when engaged in services that involve contact with others like boot fitting and pack fitting.
  • We will place hand sanitizers throughout the shop as they become available.
