The Shield is well suited for any big wall, long alpine routes and hanging belays. Totally dialed 5-inch swami is comfortable, tapered both in width and thickness for free climbing contortions, and is fully adjustable (4 to 6 inches at the waist) to accommodate either the effects of a shrinking appetite or extra warm clothing layers.
