Officials at Winter Park Resort and Amtrack reached a deal to run the ski train this winter from Union Station in Denver to the resort, starting in January 2017.
The Winter Park Express lets Front Range skiers skip the traffic congestion on I-70 to get to one of the city’s favorite ski areas, located 67 miles from Denver.

According to the news story, the ski train could make a “small dent” in highway congestion this season, taking up to 1,000 cars off the highway when it runs on Saturdays and Sundays.
Winter Park Express trains will run Jan. 7 - March 26 and cost $39 one-way for an adult ride. Trains will depart Union Station at 7 a.m. and arrive at the resort by 9.
